Las Cumbres Inn is the primary surgery recovery retreat in Costa Rica.  We work closely with the country's top plastic surgeons providing the best surgery after-care possible.  We have been taking excellent care of people for years. 

 

We are the only recovery retreat in Costa Rica with licensed nurses, a complete medical support staff, superb accommodations with deluxe rooms mini-suites and deluxe suites, beautiful pool and gardens, and centrally located just minutes to all doctor's offices, clinics and hospitals.   

 

We take care of everything from the time you arrive until the time you leave including airport pick up and  delivery, and coordinating all surgery/follow-up appointments and transportation with the doctors, clinics, and hospitals.   Many doctors visit their patients here on a regular basis.

 

Personal and medical care includes assistance with dressings and bandages, applying ice packs, administering topical medications and prescribed creams, monitoring vital signs as needed,  following doctor's instructions for individual care, supervising prescription medicines, preparing soft foods, and much more. 

 

We have many patients here for different plastic surgery procedures and are quite used to providing exceptional personal care.  We have radio intercoms in each room and can come to you in a few minutes night or day.  

 

We have a spectacular view of the city from our balconies, a peaceful place, and excellent food.  All guests receive 3 delicious home-cooked meals each day and afternoon tea, included in our rate.

We are located in San Jose, Costa Rica (maps below).  San Jose is the capital and largest city in Costa Rica, and the main center for hospitals, clinics, plastic surgeons, dentists, eye surgeons and general surgeons.  The main airport here is Juan Santamaria International Airport (SJO) and is serviced by major airlines such as American, Delta, Continental, and others.  The average roundtrip airfare from Miami is $465.00 and from other places in the U.S. $638.00 depending on the time of year. 

 

Advance trips for consultation are not required by doctors.  An understanding of your needs is discussed in advance through emails with them, then an examination, thorough consultation, and actual surgery occurs upon your arrival.  We are conveniently located 15 minutes from the airport, and just a few minutes to doctors, dentists and hospitals. 

 

Once you arrive in San Jose, we will meet you at the airport and bring you to the Inn, so there is nothing for you to worry about.  We take care of everything until you are ready to return home.  You will not need a car or be concerned about getting around.  We take care of all transportation, accommodations, driving you to and from surgery, picking up medications, etc.  

 

Taxi service is available, and a large shopping mall and the exciting city of San Jose is just minutes away.  We have a beautiful pool and pavilion with a bar-be-cue area, soft music and tropical flowers, and we offer many services such as massage, manicure and more.  Our personal attention to your after-surgery needs is unsurpassed and your comfort is always foremost on our minds.  We will take exceptional care of you to ensure a very pleasant stay here at Las Cumbres. 

  

Our climate is agreeable and warm, which means bringing clothes for warm weather.  The nights may be a little cool, so bring a sweater and long pants.  Post surgery clothing should be loose and comfortable.  Many patients take in some sightseeing before or after surgery, so consider bringing walking shoes and rain protection such as a hat or poncho if you wish. 

 

The daily rate for one person is $75.00 with all three meals included. The daily rate for double occupancy for two people when one is having surgery is $115.00 with all three meals included for both. The daily rate for double occupancy for two people when two are having surgery is $130.00 with all three meals included for both. 

 

In addition to these rates for standard rooms, we also offer deluxe accommodations, studios, mini-suites and suites.  See link below for upgraded rooms. 

 

Transportation to and from the airport, and to and from surgery, is always included.  A round-trip surcharge applies for doctor's follow-up appointments based on local taxi rates, which is reduced when shared.  Taxes are extra.  No prepayment is necessary.

 

Payment at checkout time may be made with cash, travelers checks, Visa, MasterCard or American Express.  A 5% credit on lodging will be given if paying by cash.  No personal checks accepted.  Credit cards and travelers checks are not considered cash, however travelers checks may be cashed at a local bank for a small fee and the cash used to receive the 5% discount at checkout.

 

You will have a beautiful room with private bath, direct dial telephone, and 79-Channel cable TV with several channels in English including CNN, NBC, CBS and others.  We have the same electricity as you do, so a converter is not necessary.  The rooms have hairdryers and intercoms.  Each room also has an in-room safe large enough for a laptop, available for your use at no charge.

 

We also have two guest computers with high speed broad band internet service, and extra connections for your laptop if you bring one (your laptop would need an RJ-45 network card for the cable connection). You do not need to bring your laptop unless for work, as the guest computer has the ability to check email on MSN, AOL, etc.  Internet service is always free of charge.

 

We have an ultra-comfortable guest lounge with large-screen television, the latest DVD movies, piano keyboard if you are musically inclined, and much more.  There are also many U.S. cable movie channels, including HBO, Cinemax, TNT and more.

There is much to do while you are here in Costa Rica.  If your schedule permits a little sightseeing before or after surgery, or in-between dental procedures, a much recommended tour is the Highlights Tour.  In one day you will visit several attractions including Poas Volcano & Cloud Forest, La Paz & San Fernando Waterfalls, lunch at the Selva Verde Rainforest Lodge, a boat ride down the Sarapiqui River, a visit to the Braulio Carrillo National Park, and much more.  We will arrange everything for you.

 

More extensive tours could include traveling to the Pacific or Caribbean coast, discovering different ecosystems of the country, visiting Monteverde Cloud Forest, visiting Arenal Volcano- the most active volcano in Central America and much more.  Please remember, a passport is necessary to visit Costa Rica.
