Your tour begins with a wonderful Costa Rican breakfast and a visit to Doka Estate, an authentic coffee plantation and one of the largest and most beautiful in the region. Over 90% of its high quality coffee is sent directly to Starbucks. See how coffee is grown, picked, milled and ground. Pick some beans yourself, sample a cup of coffee, and see why Costa Rica is so famous for its coffee.
Then, on to the famous and imposing Poas Volcano which stands 1.7 miles high and boasts a crater of over 1 mile wide. Still an active volcano, Poas is nevertheless completely safe for viewing. From the observation area, you can look directly down into the crater and be awe-inspired by the incredible sight of nature´s work in progress.
The next stop is to Las Paz Waterfall Gardens and Nature Park. There is nothing else like it in Costa Rica. Here you will discover one of the world´s largest butterfly farms with thousands of butterflies soaring freely overhead. With almost 3 miles of beautiful scenery, walking trails, river overlooks, gardens and towering waterfalls, you will be completely enveloped in the majesty and beauty of Costa Rica. During your visit, you will be treated to a wonderful buffet lunch with delicious Costa Rican traditional fare.
Next, you will enjoy a wonderful boat ride down the Sarapiqui River passing through plantations of pineapple, Yuca and Coconut, watching for howler monkeys, sloths and toucans.
