What a combination! Two of our best attractions in one easy fun-filled day, with a bonus attraction thrown in along the way. The bonus is a stop in the central coffee growing area of Costa Rica where you will enjoy a presentation of our world-famous golden bean coffee, then the trip continues through beautiful fern, flower and strawberry farms to the world-famous Poas Volcano.
Poas Volcano is a spectacular volcano, and is not to be missed when visiting Costa Rica. It has an amazing crater that is over 1 mile across. Still an active volcano, Poas is nevertheless completely safe for viewing. From the observation area, you can look directly down into the crater and be awe-inspired by the incredible sight of nature´s work in progress.
The next stop is to Las Paz Waterfall Gardens and Nature Park. There is nothing else like it in Costa Rica. You will visit a very beautiful nature park and discover one of the world´s largest butterfly farms with thousands of butterflies soaring freely overhead. With almost 3 miles of beautiful sceneray, walking trails, river overlooks, gardens and towering waterfalls, your visit will envelope you in the majesty and beauty of Costa Rica.
There is much to see as you walk down the many trails, including the Butterfly Observatory, Hummingbird Gardens, Orchid Gardens, Frog Exhibit, Authentic Casita, Tica House, Trout Lake, Serpentarium, and the extraordinatry bird watching areas. The Butterfly Observatory is the largest in the world, spanning the length of a football field and reaching heights of 50 feet. This enclosed structure allows butterflies to soar freely while guests walk amid their habitat. During your visit, you will be treated to a wonderful buffet lunch with delicious Costa Rican tradional fare. |
