In all of Central America, the Arenal Volcano is one of the most spectacular volcanoes anywhere. It is very active, with the sky exploding by night with an imposing display of fireworks, and the days providing a view like none other, with ash and lava cascading down the impressive volcano sides.
Located a little north of San Jose, the massive Arenal Volcano is a natural phenomenon that attracts tens of thousands of visitors each year due to its permanent, extraordinary and trusted volcanic activity, which is constant no matter what time of day, season, or month you visit. On the way to Arenal, you will stop and visit the the quaint and very famous town of Sarchi, which is known internationally as the birthplace of Costa Rica´s talented artisans. As we continue our trip we will ride through Costa Rica´s amazing countryside, and you will especially enjoy the gorgeous mountains and lush vegetation that shelters hummingbirds, toucans, woodpeckers and many other species of birds and animals. Along the way you will stop for a delicious lunch in the beautiful town of La Fortuna, with a direct view of the Arenal Volcano right in front of you. This is the perfect location in order to catch any volcanic activity. Next you will visit Arenal Lake park and look for toucans, monkeys and other exotic animals of the region. Upon entering the beautiful thermal springs, you will discover a world of relaxation as you enjoy one of the best thermal springs in Costa Rica. Here you can enjoy an optional massage and enjoy a wonderful Costa Rican dinner served with a great view of the Arenal volcano so you will not miss a thing. The incandescent light explosions are amazing.
