Sightseeing can be as simple as taking a cab into San Jose and spending 2 to 3 hours visiting shops and restaurants, or participating in half day or full day tours.  Any choice is a good choice because there is so much to do and see here.

San Jose is just 15 minutes away and in just a morning or afternoon you can visit museums, go to the market area, walk around to get a taste of the city, have a nice lunch or dinner, etc.  If you have a few more hours to spare, there is a very nice botanical park nearby (InBio Park), also a Bird-Zoo, Butterfly Farm, Waterfall Gardens, and more.

There are many 1/2 day or full day guided tours from this area to these and other attractions. We can arrange day trips for you either when you are here or in advance.  Short-term notice is o.k., so either way is fine.

For the best possible sightseeing experience, it is best to schedule sightseeing before surgery- not after.  You will see more and not be so rushed if you can come in 2-3 days before your initial appointment.

Here are some examples of scheduling:

Arrive morning or early afternoon (day 1), have your preop appointment during the afternoon, tour the next day (day 2), then surgery the following day (day 3), or,

come in on day 1 and get settled, take the tour on day 2,  preop appointment on day 3, and surgery on day 4.

Alternatively, you can take the Highlights tour following recovery depending on the doctor's advice and how you feel.  The tour does not involve strenuous exercise.
